If you have ever wanted to visit an abandoned Star Wars set, the sands of time are against you. The major part of filming for the Star Wars planet of Tatooine movie took place in the Tozeur Desert in Tunisia.
You may recall that Tatooine was a fictional desert planet in the Star Wars space-opera franchise, home of Luke Skywalker and his father Anakin Skywalker.
After production ended, a number of these set locations were abandoned far into the Sahara Desert. Among them is Luke Skywalker’s childhood home from Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope. Now, some of the abandoned production sets are deteriorating and being swallowed by the Sahara.
