It survived nor’easters and Hurricanes Irene and Sandy, but the Circus Drive-In couldn’t survive the wrecking ball.

Located in Wall Township, the Jersey Shore landmark started serving up hamburgers, Maryland soft shell crabs and batter-dipped onion rings in 1954.

The original owners, Richard and Barbara Friedel, sold the Happy Days style drive-in restaurant in 2004.

A series of new owners attempted to keep the drive-in going, but it ran out of steam in 2016. After 64 years of operation, the Circus Drive-in was demolished in 2018.
